Body kit, wing, bling-bling rims, overall it's pretty dull until you get to the "Life is hard. Pray Harder." sticker on the back. Needless to say, this guy has a LOT of praying to do. |

Well, this car's been on Rice or Not for a long time now...and it's still as pathetic and hilarious as ever... |

A riced out Corsica is like a Pinto with a 351 Cleveland, it's pointless and ugly |

But a 351 Cleveland Pinto is at least fast, plus it has the freak value going for it... |

My first car was a Corsica. I did absolutely nothing to it. The modding didn't start until I got a Camaro. I didn't see the point. |

Yeah, modding economy cars doesn't do anything for me unless they've reached the point where they're so universally maligned, detested and hated as to become a complete joke. Like Edsels, Gremlins, Pintos, Pintostangs, and Nash Metropolitans. Those work as freak-value hot rods. |

Mad Max, you forgot Pacers, Chevettes, and Vegas (would NEED an engine swap anyway, so why not put a really nice crate V8 in it...). |

And K-cars, and Festivas, and Yugos... I didn't intend to write the definitive list, just give examples. |

I remember an issue of Motor Trend with a hotrodded (~300hp, I think--it was about 10 years ago!) Festiva. I'm pretty sure it was a RWD conversion--otherwise, it would've been totally undriveable. Funny little car, indeed. |

It was probably Jay Leno's SHOgun Festiva. I posted it somewhere on Rice or Not. It's a Festiva with a Taurus SHO V6 mounted behind the seats, and has Nitrous to boot. |

interesting fact: there were 7 SHOgun festivas built, at a price of $47,000 each (price of new festiva and new SHO needed for conversion). Leno owns #3. |

Yep. SHOgun Festiva. That's exactly what I was thinking of, but it was so long ago that I couldn't remember the name. I'd be worried about putting that much power in a car that was practically wider than it was long... |

I'd venture to say that there's really nothing wrong with modifying a Corsica....if you have a car, and want to make it faster and better looking, that's fine. Hell, modify a Tempo or a Corolla. They need all the improvement they can get.
I think we are all getting disallusioned with custom cars. We have to remember that modifying a car like a Corsica doesn't automatically get you a piece of shit like this one.
And that damn sticker on it....Christians and ricers.....*shudder* |

Regarding the SHOGun. I've had plans in the works for the past year now to build the SHOGun Mark 2. I couldn't really think of a better name for a SHOgun built on the Aspire platform. From the research I've done so far, it looks pretty promising, although the final design is going to look a lot different than the original SHOguns did. I've got a spare engine, subframe, all the front end hardware, etc. So bascialy I need a Aspire I can use the corpse of. I could care less how it's going to end up looking, the simple fact of stuff a 220hp 200ft/lb high reving engine into the back of a small vehicle like an Aspire will be good enough. It will finaly be something that no longer Aspires to be a car. |
