Here's what BenBrausen had to say: The white Honda is what the owner said "Use to be a sponsored car." It use to have a Integra engine in it but now it has the original engine back in it. You can see it has some side damage which the driver told me, "When I race, I haven't gotten a feel for where my passenger side of the car is so I smash stuff and most of the time it's other cars." This thing had about 50 pounds of tape holding it together and a 500 pound roll cage that he'd never need nor does he have the engine power with the little engine in there to pull that extra weight.
(Trooper note: Some freakshow uses this as a daily driver??) |

Hey iMport-TunEr, I have an answer for you. It's called a C-4 vette. The mid to late 80's TPI cars are dirt cheap now. You can pick them up for around $6000 now. Build a small block, take off the LTR manifold and put on a mini-ram, and you're making 450hp, and handle like you're on rails, naturally aspiratated. If you build the motor with low compression pistons and bolt on a Vortech supercharger and it's all over. I'm sure having the engine and transmission over the front wheels gives imports ideal weight distribution. Even a 3rd gen F-body will kill most imports on a road course. |

ok if u want to get into mod's then thats another story, there are endless mods for the subaru wrx, for 1 its 4 wheel drive, i dont care what vette u have its not gouing to take it in the corners.. also the wrx can be tweeked to upwards of 600+ hp.. but i am talking off the showroom floor.. no vette is killing a wrx on any road course anywhere. |

its ok canadian, what u say goes in one ear and out the other also. but any asshole can controll power in a strait line, take it to a street course. all you domestic's have is the drag strip. which by the way is slowly being taken over by imports, when was the last time a domestic car won a rally race on pikes peek, when was the last time a domestic car won and road race?? all u have is power thats good for 6 , 7 seconds for a quarter mile at a time. try building power that last's 24 hours |

Import.. I drive an import currently.. I am not taking the sides for import/domestic.. considering they barely exist anymore..
I was commenting on how flawed your statements are, and how arrogent you sound saying them.. AKA rice boy logic.. completly ignorant of whats, what.
Try arguing *your* point, not mine. |

ok, its like this.. this website is basically a slam attack on import cars and their owners. so your damn strait if i come off arrogent in some of my statements. all this talk about import cars making it seem like they will never amout to anything. most of the people on here are closeminded. we all know what domestic cars have done in the PAST. time to acknowladge the imports. yea, i admit some people go a little overboard on the decal, 1 wiper, bodykit, ect ect.. lets not forget what the teens were driving in the 70's-80's. if we slam on their "hick-mobile"(70's-80's term equal to ricer) they slam and shun us for putting down their ride and style. u dont like this style as much as we dont like your flat paint driven', baby-moon wheel, fuzzy dice, leopard seatcover havin', hick-mobile |

Wait just a minute. I don't like primered vehicles with fuzzy dice, leopard seat covers and what-not, but those of us who have nice domestic vehicles are put in the same class. Our cars apparantly can't corner worth a shit and can only go the 1/4 mile. That's close-minded also. If you would actually drive a nice domestic car (like a late-model Z28 like I drive for instance) you would know better. |

lol, im not close-minded. i acknowladge what domestic cars are capeable of. im sure your z28 is a nice car and is quick to boot. but, it handles nowhere as well as an import of equal power. |

Where is this "import of equal power" and how much does it cost? That's the big question. |

That's not equal power. We already talked about the WRX. Try again. |

Look, we can argue about this for days. Point is, some imports are worthy and some are not. Same for domestics. Imports are not all slow and all domestics don't handle like dogs. We both have cars that are worthy. Enough with the import vs. domestic crap. I like a roaring V8 with RWD but that's my opinion. It's understandable that that isn't what gets everyone's heart racing. Let's get back to what this site is for. Making fun of ridiculous paint jobs, humongous (sp?) wings and bumblebee fart tips. |

On a side note, I just got back from the Chevy place and there was a 99+ V6 Mustang with a SiR AND GTR badge on the back. Domestic rice at it's finest....It's at a point where it isn't even funny any more (most of the time). It's just sad.... |

Probably not even if it's an auto. GM makes some great automatic transmissions. Yeah, keep in mind the 98+ Camaros with LS1s are much faster than my car. Mine is an auto, btw. Oh, plus the WRX has a turbo, right? If I added a turbo to my car it would be much faster........but I said I wasn't going there again. |

I totaly agree with SuperDave and BigL350. If you take the same exact mods and put them on a Toyota Supra Twin Turbo( 6 cyl.) as you put on a Camaro Z28 LT1 the Camaro would be faster. Cause you start with less horses in the Toyota than in the Camaro. Duh. Why not tune a car that's already Fast. You import guys need to just try it and I bet you'd switch sides. |
